Before, there were only big-name personality gurus (Tony Robbins, Bob Proctor) who taught personal development live and in person. Today, there seems to be a proliferation of experts and mentors on the net, all teaching secrets and sure-fire ways of improving one's personality.

Guru

If you want to go and do business on the Internet, should it necessarily be on personal development? Do you have what it takes to be a teacher, a guru? What particular specialties are you adept at? Have you studied psychology?

Granting that you do have a particular specialty or skill that you would like to share with people, are you qualified to teach them? More specifically, can you teach them on the Internet?

Do you have what it takes to teach, whether one-on-one live, in the classroom or on a conference or seminar or in the small confines of the Internet screen? Would you know how effective are you? Do you know how and what motivates people in general?

Money

What will be in it for you - fame, respect, or would it be simply money? If your passion for teaching people comes from the real desire to uplift them out of their miserable situations now, then it might be a good reason.

If it is money, it is the worst reason in the world getting into personal development education. It would be an outright disservice to all the people who really need them. And be mentored only by a charlatan.

There are many areas in personal development that needs to be examined vis-à-vis your knowledge (expertise, if you will). First, we were asking for your purpose. If it is a true desire to help other people because you think you have something to give to them, then you can probably proceed.
